Understanding the Health & Safety Executive’s Stress Management Standards
The HSE’s management standards for work related stress were revised in 2004. The standards clearly highlight the areas employers should address to ensure employees are not exposed to undue stress as a result of their work or work environment. All workplaces are expected to comply with these standards as they link to the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999, and the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
The HSE expects employers to perform risk assessments, this includes the risk of employees developing stress related illness.
